1. COMMITMENT TO PRIVACY
This Privacy Policy explains how Nutritools collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website and web application of clinical nutrition calculators (the "Platform").
The specific data processing may vary depending on how you use the Platform, the type of account, and the functionalities you have enabled.
While Nutritools does not operate through a formally constituted legal entity, any reference to "Nutritools", "we", or "our" shall be understood as referring to the project and the persons who operate and administer it.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Depending on your use of the Platform, we may collect the following categories of information:
• Account data: first name, last name, email, password, and data associated with login or Google authentication. • Professional profile data: profession, logo, and digital signature you choose to upload to customize your reports. • Billing data: contracted plan, billing period, subscription status, and billing email when applicable. • Assessment data: anthropometric values, calculation results, and clinical parameters you enter in the calculators to obtain results. • Technical and usage data: session identifiers, pages visited, date and time of access, browser, operating system, and Platform errors.
3. HOW WE OBTAIN INFORMATION
• Directly from you, when you register, log in, complete forms, edit your profile, or use the calculators. • Automatically, through your use of the Platform, through technical records and analytics tools. • From third parties involved in providing the service, such as authentication services or infrastructure providers.
4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
• Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and maintain active sessions, as part of the contractual relationship with you. • Operate the calculators and generate the clinical results you request. • Process subscriptions and manage access according to the contracted plan. • Send operational communications, such as email verification, password recovery, and service notices. • Improve product performance, security, and user experience, detect errors, and understand how the Platform is used, based on our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the service.
5. ANALYTICS TOOLS AND LOCAL STORAGE
The Platform may use third-party tools to measure usage and diagnose problems, such as Google Analytics 4. We may also store information in the browser, such as session tokens, preferences, and local caches necessary for the application to function.
When applicable regulations require prior consent for certain non-essential technologies, we will attempt to request it or limit its use in accordance with those regulations.
6. DATA SHARING
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with providers and third parties involved in providing the Platform, for example:
• Payment processors: such as Stripe, for subscriptions and billing. • Authentication: such as Google OAuth, when you choose to use that access method. • Infrastructure and hosting: storage, database, email, and technical support providers necessary to operate the Platform.
We may also disclose information if necessary to comply with legal obligations, respond to requests from competent authorities, or protect the rights, security, and operations of Nutritools or third parties.
7. CLINICAL ASSESSMENT DATA
The anthropometric values and calculation results you enter in the calculators are stored in your account so you can consult and manage them. We do not share this information with third parties without your authorization, except as necessary to operate the Platform.
If you use the results generated by Nutritools in the context of your professional practice, you are responsible for how you use that information with your patients.
8. SECURITY
We adopt reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect the information processed by the Platform. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no system is completely infallible and we cannot guarantee absolute security against all risks.
9. DATA RETENTION
We retain information for the time necessary to operate the Platform, comply with contractual and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain operational continuity.
When you delete your account, we will delete the associated operational information, although we may retain for a limited time certain billing, security, and legal compliance records when necessary.
10. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on applicable regulations, you may request access, rectification, update, or deletion of your personal data, as well as object to certain processing or request portability when applicable.
For inquiries or requests, you can write to us at [email protected].
11. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Since we use providers and infrastructure that may operate from different countries, some data may be processed outside your jurisdiction. When applicable, we will adopt reasonable safeguards in accordance with applicable regulations.
12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Platform or applicable law. We will publish the current version on this page indicating the date of last update.
